    Birthplace given as Trenton, New Jersey, in daughter Eunice's birth record, but as West Virginia in 1900 Census, and New York in 1910 Census. Trenton is in Mercer County, but Ida's marriage record states her birthplace as Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Her birthplace was given as New Jersey in the birth records of other children as well. Birth date given in 1900 Census as Jun 1861, but age given in marriage record and obituary would put birth in about 1863 or 1864, while date on headstone is 1865. Neither birthplace nor birth date nor parents were mentioned in her obituary. Her 1930 Census entry states her birthplace as New Jersey, her father's birthplace as Ireland, and her mother's as Pennsylvania.

    Obituary states burial as IOOF Cemetery, but the headstone for her and her husband is located at the upper portion of the old SDB section of Blockhouse Hill Cemetery.

    ROSA JANE MCKINNEY
    Mrs. Rosa Jane McKinney, 73, widow of Joseph McKinney, died at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb 17, at the home of Sherman Jones of Railroad Street.
    A daughter of Lafayette and Frances Stewart Jones, she was born March 31, 1875, in Ritchie County.
    Surviving are nine children: Avery of Porto Rico; Hugh of Grafton; Joy, Vaughn, and Mrs. Hazel Broadwater all of Pennsboro; Mrs. Mindy Archer of Medina, Ohio; Mrs. Hattie Gayalliano of Wellsburg; Mrs. Halie Carroll, West Union; and Mrs. Stella Hart of Oxford. There are 34 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Arnold's Creek church, Rev. C. S. DeBarr officiating. Spurgeon Bros. Funeral Home in charge.

    Although his name has been reported as Laffeyette U. Jones and other variations, "Lafayette M. Jones" is the form that has been most consistently found. Nonetheless,
    his death record identifies him as Marion L. Jones, and his name appears on his headstone as "M. Lafeyette Jones." And while his age as stated in the birth records of his children would put his birth at about 1852, his stated age was 29 at the time of his marriage on Nov 11 1879, and his headstone specifies Nov 25 1849. In the 1850 Census of Ritchie County, enumerated on Sep 9 1850, he was listed as Lafayette M. Jones, age 5 months.
