Some researchers report an additional child for Joseph I. Vincent and Lida Arthelia Pinell, namely Jane Vincent, born in 1881. We have found no evidence of this child, and the documented 1879 death date of Lida directly refutes it.

Part of the Lousada family remained Loyalist during the Revolution, retaining their name's old spelling and moving to Canada or England. Aaron II changed the spelling of his name and served in the American Army. He was a sergeant in the Revolutionary War, first during 1776-77 in a New Jersey Regiment, and later in 1778-83 in a Pennsylvania regiment. The battles in which he fought were Long Island, Princeton, Brandywine, and Germantown.

On Nov 28 1833, in Monongalia County, (W)VA, Aaron II applied for a military pension, stating that he was 102 years old and giving his birth as 1731 in Somerset County, New Jersey. He stated that he had served in the Somerset County Militia for three months in 1776, and that he moved to what is now Greene County, Pennsylvania in 1777. He further stated that in 1778, he was a spy on Whitely Creek, Greene County, Pennsylvania, under Capt. William Crawford, and that he was discharged in September 1783 with 2 years and 8 months of service. He lived in Greene County until 1793, when he moved to Monongalia County.
