(NOTE: Benoni Swiger's wife Nancy (Wright) Swiger was enumerated in this census in the household of their son Marsena. The Nancy Crawford residing with Benoni in this census was the former Nancy Ann Williams. In Jan 1897, a marriage license was issued in Doddridge County to Nancy Ann Williams & John Crawford. There was no return or endorsement of that license to indicate that the marriage ever took place, and no further record of John Crawford has been found. In Feb 1908, while Benoni Swiger was visiting Nancy Crawford's brother, Edmond N. Williams, in Chillicothe Ohio, an altercation between the two resulted in Emond shooting and killing Benoni. Edmond Williams was convicted and sentenced to confinement in the Ohio Penitentiary, where was was found in the 1910 Census. Nancy Williams Crawford married William H. Baker in 1914.)
