(Note: Dr. Harvey Spencer, 1823-1886, Lydia J. Price Spencer, 1826-1881, and Fayette Spencer, 1846-1916, are buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. Their relationship, if any, to Jirah and Thankful, is not known.)

In the 1840 Census of Cortland Co, NY, the household of Jirah (Israh ?) Peabody consisted of himself and four others (not named). The two adjoining households were those of Bial Brown, elder and younger.
