John Sherwood, 40, farmer; Helenor (female), 35; Victoria, 13; F. M. (male), 11; E. J. (female), 8; Ephriam, 1/2; William Bee, 16.
(Note: This William Bee is the orphaned son of Eleanor's cousin Asa Bee, a son of Jonathan Bee, who had also died two years before.)

1870 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton Twp):
John Sherwood, 52, b. Pennsylvania, laborer, was listed in the household of Isaac & Susan Warner and their 5 children.

1880 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Jun 7 1880:
John Sherwood, 62, farmer, b. Pa; wife Elizabeth A, 30, b. Pa; dau Maud, 14, b. WVa; mother Mary, 90, b. Pa (sic), widowed.
(Note: Maud (aka Barbara) is believed actually to be John Sherwood's stepdaughter, who married Lloyd Flint (1854-1932).
