The 1830 Census of Hardy County lists in the household of Philip McNemar one male under the age of 5, one male between 20 and 30, and one female between 20 and 30. The adult male was probably Philip himself, although the form was intended to enumerate only the non-named persons in the household.

Mary A. McNemar, 49; Beckwith A, 21; David C, 16; Sarah E, 14; Lydia M, 11; Susan C, 10; Eliza J, 7.
In the next household was Mary's daughter Ann and her family:
Abraham Davis, 25, farmer; Ann R, 25; Susan, 1; Isaac, 6 months.
