News article on the front page of the "West Union Record," Thursday, September 9 1915, in its entirety:

CHARLEY MCLAIN AND FAMILY LEAVE FOR NEW HOME IN OHIO
Charley McLain, who recently sold his property in New Milton district, left Saturday with his family for their new home in Granville, Ohio. Mr. McLain had already taken his horses, cows and goods through by freight. They expected to make the trip through in their car, but the rain Saturday interfered, so they went on the train, and left the car here, for another trip.
Mr. McLain is a good citizen and will be greatly missed in many ways, not only by his former neighbors but by the entire county.
Mr. McLain was secretary of New Milton district board of education for 13 years. He has been road engineer in that district for 3 years, and has placed the roads of New Milton district in the best possible shape that they can be placed so long as they are dirt roads.
Mr. McLain has been steward of the M. E. church at New Milton for 8 years, and also district steward for 4 years.
Mr. McLain has been a veterinary surgeon for 21 years. He will be missed as a business man and a good citizen. He has often been urged by his party leaders to make the race for sheriff, but always declined to make the race.
