Notes for: Anna M. Ward

Minnie Kendall Lowther, apparently incorrectly, states on p. 316 that Anna V. Ward, a daughter of Martin Carr Ward and Mary Jane Gaston, was born on Dec 2 1845 and that she married M. B. Zinn of Holbrook on July 27 1865. M. B. Zinn was a son of Quilla Manley Zinn and Lucy Ann Wilson. But Ritchie County marriage records show that on that date, July 27 1865, Ann M. Ward, age 20, daughter of Martin C. & Mary J. Ward, married William B. Zinn, age 23, born in Lewis Co, son of John W. & Eliza Zinn. Furthermore, a headstone for Luetta Zinn at the Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery identifies her as the daughter of W. B. & A. M. Zinn. But Ritchie County death records show that Anna Ward Zinn, dau of Martin and Betty Gaston Ward, died on Feb 27 1934 at age 88y2m25d.
