Local news item, "Doddridge County Republican," Thursday, Oct 26 1916, in its entirety:
"The many friends of Fred Hyatt, the popular B & O foreman who was injured in cleaning up a wreck some months ago, are glad to see him out once more. It will be remembered that Mr. Hyatt sustained a broken leg from a tie falling from the top of a car and striking him as it bounded from the side of the track. Fred was here Monday, and while his right ankle bothers him quite a bit yet, he is able to walk very nicely with the aid of a cane."
