Notes for: Patty Ann Cochran
HER SISTER -
Mettie Mae Joyce, 68, of Nutter Fort, passed away on May 18, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Clarksburg on March 12, 1948, a daughter of the late James and Mabel Ash Cochran.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Joyce, whom she married September 14, 1968; three sons, John E. Joyce and his fiancé, Kelley Sayers of Clarksburg, Willie Joyce and his wife Angie of Hepzibah, and Aaron W. Joyce and his wife Shannon of Grafton; eight grandchildren, Toby Joyce and his wife Hunter, Shelly Cavalier, Josh Sayers, Brittany Snoderly, Kolby Joyce, Dylan Joyce, Tiffany Hinchman, and Adrian Joyce; two great grandchildren, Ralyn Joyce and Oaklynn Snoderly; three brothers, Johnny Cochran and his wife Sheila of Campbell, OH, Ronnie Cochran and his wife Sandy of Good Hope, and Bobby Cochran and his wife Teresa of Greenville, SC; one sister, Roberta “Bert” Gray and her husband Gary of Good Hope; one half brother, Jackie Currey of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Dorothy Kay Cochran, Patricia Childers, <<==== William “Picker” Cochran, Martha Lee Wilson, James Cochran, Jr., Marvin Cochran, Ellen Baker, and Barbara Sue Swiger.
Mettie was a 1968 graduate of Victory High School and was formerly employed at Steptoe & Johnson, and also Gas Analytical in Stonwood where she retired in 2013 after 14 years of service. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and neighbor, and she loved her dog Abby.
In keeping with her request, Mettie will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date with inurnment in the Sunset Memorial Park.
