Mary Ann Freeman Perkins Parham, 86, of Morganton, died Sunday, June 12, 2011, after a period of declining health.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, on the Grace Ridge Mezzanine. A service of remembrance will follow at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Parham was born June 15, 1924, in Doddridge County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and Hettie Henning Freeman. She was a member of The Village Chapel, in Pinehurst, and was a retired interior designer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Parham.
She is survived by her son, Charles Daniel Perkins and wife, Elizabeth, of Nebo; her sister, Audra F. Matheny and husband, Pete, of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two grandsons, Daniel Douglas Perkins, of Concord, and 2nd Lt. Brian Perkins (serving in Afghanistan) and wife, Kara Lynn Perkins, of Fairbanks, Alaska; a great-grandson, Daniel Wyatt Perkins, of Concord; her former husband, Ralph Perkins, of Florida; a special nephew, Loren Matheny and wife, Sherri; and her favorite niece, Kendra Kay Compston and husband, Rick.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.
