Although his obituary states that "he was twice married," census and marriage records indicate that Huey E. Asher was married four times.

1920 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (Grant District), enumerated on Jan 17 1920:
Hugh E. Asher, 40, driller of oil & gas wells; wife Edna L, 20; dau Reda P, 16; son Lee R, 14; son Burl D, 12; dau Ethel M, 6; son Wilford D, 3; son James R, 1.

1930 Census, Ritchie Co, WV (Clay District), enumerated on Apr 7 1930 at Tollgate:
Hughie E. Asher, 50, pumper in oil fields; wife Reta P, 27; dau Bettie J, 3; dau Doris M, 6 months.

1940 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (Grant District), enumerated on Apr 15 1940 at Morgans Run:
