Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Oct 12 1916, in its entirety:
"The Rail Road Company dumped a lot of dirt into the low place in the street running to the R. R. bridge near the residence of S. S. Cox, and the corporation has smoothed it out, making quite an improvement to the road. The corporation has also improved the road under the rail road bridge at the South end of town."
