Notes for: Mary Lou Summers

Mary Lou graduated from Doddridge County High School. Upon graduation, she entered the United States Cadets as a nursing student and attended Morris Harvey College. She became a registered nurse in 1947. She was employed by Charleston General Hospital, worked for many years for Dr. E. B. Holmes in Parkersburg, and later for West Central Community Action with the Head Start program. She retired from the Bureau of Public Debt in 1990. She was also active in several organizations including the Eastern Star, the Daughters of the American Revolution in Doddridge County where she was a charter member, and more recently the Gihon CEOS club.
