His four children, Gay, Marjorie, Leslie Jr, and Denver, were listed in the household of their maternal grandparents, Absalom & Harriett Digman in McClellan District of Doddridge County.

1930 Census, Harrison Co, WV (city of Salem), enumerated on Apr 2 1930:
Leslie Davis Sr, 41, oil worker, age 21 at time of first marriage; wife Lucindia, 35, age 29 at first marriage; dau Gay, 20, school teacher; dau Marjorie, 17; son Leslie Jr, 14; son Denver G, 11; son Edwin, 10; son Grover M, 5; son Francis L, 2; son Thomas F, under 1 yr.
