Notes for: Orestes Guy Britton

Local news items, "West Union Herald," Thursday, Oct 28 1915, in its entirety:
"G. W. Britton of Route 2 was a caller at the Herald office Saturday. He recently heard from his son O. G. Britton who is located at Sapulpa, Okla, and learned that they had the misfortune to lose their youngest child, who was nearly a year old. Mr. Britton himself has been confined to a hospital at Tulsa with a severe attack of typhoid fever but is now slowly convalescing. They also lost their smokehouse with all the contents by fire while Mr. Britton was sick. It would seem that they are receiving more than their share of trouble. Mr. Britton is a former citizen of this county and is well known to many of our citizens, having worked in the oil fields of Doddridge and Wetzel county. They having moved to Oklahoma about four years ago."
