He was the last known World War I Army veteran living in Doddridge County. Among others, he was survived by three stepdaughters, Luella Hester, Newton Falls OH, Junell Lyon, Weirton WV, and Luetta Goodrich, Windham OH, and by one stepson, Albert Ash, Lisbon OH.
