Notes for: Carlton Haden "Budge" Burns

"Early in his working career, he had the opportunity to drive the first school bus used at Harrisville High School in 1933 and he was employed by the Ritchie County School System as a school bus driver and rose to the position of superintendent of transportation, where he served for 24 years. He also served as supervisor of the Ritchie County highway system for the West Virginia Department of Highways during Cecil H. Underwood's first term as governor and also worked for the Department of Highways during the administration of Arch Moore. He was later employed by Robinson Motors of Harrisville as a salesman."
