Notes for: Joseph McNemar III

The 1860 Census of Hardy County reported the following persons in the household of Joseph McNemar III, with their ages: Joseph McNemar III (33, occupation farmer), Ann R. (27), and Laura E. (10). The basis for Joseph being identified as "the third," just as his father Joseph was identified as "Junior" in the 1850 Census, is not clear.
