    Notes
    • 1880 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Jun 19 1880:

(Note: Many of the men in the nearby households listed their occupations as "working on saw mill." The owner/operator of the sawmill was presumably a neighbor, John McGowan, 65, whose occupation was listed as "running saw mill.")

1900 Census, Braxton Co, WV (Salt Lick District), enumerated on Jun 4 1900:

A notation indicates that the family residence was a rented house, rather than a farm.

1910 Census, Braxton Co, WV (Holly District, village of Flatwoods), enumerated on May 5 1910:
Esmond G. Moore Jr, 21, b. Va, laborer on railroad bridges, married 7 months; wife Dessie, 18, no children; mother-in-law Alvaretta Floyd, 53, widowed; hired girl Maud Gillespie, 17, housekeeper, single.
