Oliver L. Davis, 40, farmer, married 19 yrs; wife Ida B, 41, married 19 yrs, mother of 2 children (1 still living); dau Ethel, 17, single; niece Fern Metz, 1y 1m; adopted son Arlie Kerns, 8.
NOTE: Arlie Kerns was a son of George W. Kerns and Clara Hart. When his mother died sometime between 1902 and 1910, Arlie and his siblings were separated and placed in homes in Gilmer, Ritchie and Harrison counties. It is not clear whether Arlie was truly an adopted son or simply a foster child. He later changed the spelling of his name to Kearns.
