    John T. Seders was captured at Greenland Gap, W.Va., on April 25, 1863. He entered Libby Prison on May 6, 1863 and left there on May 14th. He was transferred to Union prisons until released in September 1863. Seders was at Libby with John R. Bogard, who was later transferred to Andersonville Prison, where he died.

    Military records show that Jesse Seeders enlisted in Co A, 14th W.Va. Infantry, on 28 July 1862 in West Union. He was described as 5'7", fair complexion, sandy hair, blue eyes, 44-year-old farmer, born in Hampshire County. He mustered in as a Private on 23 Aug 1862 in Wheeling. In Aug and Sept 1863 he was sick in hospital at New Creek. He was sick at the U.S. General Hospital in Parkersburg from March 1864 to April 1865. He mustered out as a Private on 27 Jun 1865 at Cumberland, Maryland.
