In 1772 he lived at Nutter's Fort, which his father Thomas Nutter was instrumental in building. John's will was either written or probated on Feb 22, 1808 in Harrison Co. Among other property, he left 200 acres of land in Ohio, suggesting that he had visited there at one time or another.6 He married Oct- 2-1786 in Harrison Co, (W)VA,6,4 Elizabeth Cottrell, (daughter of Andrew Cottrell and Nancy Moor).
