BIG CHIEF IS MAYOR
The high office of mayor for the city of West Union is now filled by the former chief of police D. J. Cunningham, Silas P. Smith, who was appointed by the council, having failed to qualify. The new mayor is familiar with the local conditions, as he filled both positions as chief of police and city treasurer last year.
