Doddridge County Birth Records 2-332 show a Maudie Gay Thomas born to H. W. and Lucretia Thomas on Apr 3 1888. Father's occupation is listed as farmer. The records also show a Rosa Alice Thomas born to K. W. (sic) Thomas and Lucretia Britton Thomas on Apr 16 1888. Father was 40 years old, born in Monongalia County, and his occupation was carpenter. Mother's age was 30, and she was listed as born in Doddridge County. As no subsequent mention of the second child has been found, it is assumed to have been a clerical error.
