Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, May 11 1916, in its entirety:
"H. E. Middleton and wife of Aven were here last week attending to business matters. Mr. Middleton, having met with some pecuniary losses, became involved in financial troubles, but last week he made a settlement with his creditors and has been released from financial difficulties. We hope he may make good in the future, as he is an honest young man and deserves to succeed."
