Local news item, "West Union Herald," Thursday, September 30 1915, in its entirety:
"Homer Haught and father D. H. (sic) Haught attended the special service at the Ruley church Sunday and enjoyed the fine basket dinner served on the grounds."

From the "West Union Herald" of Thursday, April 30, 1936:
"Homer Haught, of Parkersburg, made this office a call while here Tuesday and informed us that he will move his family to F. A. Fisher's farm in Doddridge County this week."
