1850 Census, Doddridge Co, Virginia (now West Virginia), enumerated on Sep 25 1850:
Nathan K. (sic) Davis, 52, farmer, cannot read/write; Keziah, 54, cannot read/write; William, 20, farmer, cannot read/write; Rachel, 16; Ananias, 12; Hickman S. Hansford, 1. All born in Virginia except Nathan, born in New Jersey.
(NOTE: Hickman S. Hansford is presumably Francis H. Hansford (1849-1885), son of David W. Hansford and Julia Cooper.)

1860 Census, Doddridge Co, (W)VA, enumerated Jul 3 1860:
Nathan J. Davis, 62, b. New Jersey, farmer; K. Davis (female), 64, b. Virginia; Leah Hansford, 12, b. Virginia; H. Hansford (male), 10, b. Virginia.
(NOTE: Leah F. Hansford was the daughter of David W. Hansford and Julia Cooper. Her mother having died prior to the 1850 Census, and her father not yet having remarried, Leah was enumerated that year in the household of Ephraim Bee.)
