1860 Census, Greene Co, Pennsylvania (Wayne Twp, Blacksville Va. Post Office), enumerated on Sep 13 1860:
Joseph Rogers, 28, farmer, value of real estate $500, value of personal estate $300; Susan, 25; Mary, 5; Able, 4 months; John, 78, charitably kept; Philip, 76, stone mason. All born in Pennsylvania.

1870 Census, Tyler Co, WV (Centerville District), enumerated on Jul 22 1870:
Joseph L. Rogers, 42, farmer, value of real estate $600, value of personal estate $150; Sarah (sic), 39; Mary, 14; Able, 10; Joseph, 7; Nancy, 4. All born in Virginia/West Virginia.

Joseph L. Rogers died on Mar 15 1871, the victim of a homicide. His wife Susan remarried in 1876, her new husband being Nelson Duty. In the 1880 Census, Susan and Nelson were enumerated in separate household and she had reverted to her previous married name.

1880 Census, Tyler Co, WV (Centerville District), enumerated on Jun 21 1880:
Susanna Rogers, 47, widow; son Able, 20, farm worker; son Joseph, 17, farm worker; dau Nancy, 13. All born in West Virginia except Susanna, born in Pennsylvania.

1880 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (Central District), enumerated on Jun 8 1880:
Nelson Duty, 55, b. Va. (father b. Ohio, mother b. Va.), married, miller; son George, 27, single, farm laborer; dau Elisabeth, 18, single, attended school within the census year; dau Nancy, 16, attended school.

Susan was again going by the surname Duty in the 1910 Census.
1910 Census, Tyler Co, WV (Centerville District), enumerated on Apr 18 1910:
James McCullough, 45, farmer, married 21 yrs; wife Nancy, 43, married 21 yrs, mother of 7 children (6 still living); dau Flora, 18; son George, 14; dau Ivy, 10; son Bronston, 8; dau Alice, 5; mother-in-law Susan Duty, 80, widowed. All born in West Virginia except for Susan, born in Pennsylvania.
