1870 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (Southwest Twp), enumerated on Sep 3 1870:
Mary A. Carroll, 50, value of real estate $1,000, value of personal estate $1,200, cannot write; Geo. F. West, 18, farm laborer, attended school within the year.
1880 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (New Milton District), enumerated on Jun 27 1880:
George West, 26, stone mason, single; sister Maxam C. Dawson, divorced; son (sic), James Dawson, 5; son (sic) Samuel Dawson, 3.
NOTE: The two Dawson boys should have been listed as George West's nephews rather than his sons.
In 1900, George West, 44, b. Jul 1855 in WVa, single, farm laborer, was listed as an uncle in the household of Floyd & Mary West in Somerset Co PA
In 1910, he was again listed as an uncle in the household of Floyd & Mary West in Somerset Co PA, occupation laborer at odd jobs.
We have found no record of him after the 1910 Census. There is no indication that he ever married.
