Notes for: Rachel West

The second daughter of Isaac & Rachel West Husk, Dorcas Emma Husk Carpenter, died in childbirth with her fourth child, a son Boyd, who also died shortly afterwards. Her three remaining children were taken in by Isaac & Rachel, who raised their three granddaughters as their own children. This left Emma's widower, Lewis Johnson Carpenter, free to marry his wife Emma's first cousin, Eunice Ann Coon (daughter of Isaac's sister Jane), also a recent widow.
