Rossie "Bud" Lowery, 86, peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on Jan. 9, 2014. He was born in Virgilina, the ninth month and on the ninth day to the late Charlie and Clara Lowery. He retired in 1993 after 45 years of service with Gregory Poole.

He is survived by his wife, Eva, of 62 years; three sons, Teddy (Judy), Robert (Lyn) and Julian, two daughters, Peggy (Al) and Patricia; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

A funeral was held Friday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church by the Rev. Kyle Copas and Rev. John H. Lane.

A funeral was also held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 2:45 p.m. at Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
