Notes for: James Vitus Pierce
He retired in 1974 after more than 18 years service with Youngstown Sheet & Tube of Hubbard, OH. He was also a self-employed farmer. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the Air Corps.
The following item appeared in the May 20 1943 issue of the West Union Herald: "Pvt. Vitus Pierce who is stationed at Columbia, South Carolina, is spending a fourteen day furlough here with his mother Mrs. Amanda Pierce."
