Local news item, "West Union Record," Thursday, Oct 19 1916, in its entirety:
"Prosecuting Attorney A. F. McCue was called to New Milton district Tuesday to conduct a hearing before a justice in which T. J. Boyce was charged with improper conduct toward a girl who made her home with Sherd Burbridge. Boyce was fined and the girl was sent to the industrial home to be trained into a useful life if practicable."
