Notes for: John Thomas Kearns
Local news item in West Union Herald, June 22 1911, in its entirety:
"John Kearns has began the manufacture of 1000,000 on the lot at the top of the steps leading from the suspension bridge and owned by Joseph Freeman. They will be used to erect a Christian Church on that lot in the near future."
(NOTE: Though not stated as such, it is clear from the context and John Kearns' occupation that the items being manufactured were bricks. The quantity is stated exactly as printed in the article. The church referred to is the Christian Church which was opened in the Wabash community of West Union about two years later.)
