Notes for: William McKinley Hileman

Birth records provide no explanation for the apparent 4-month age difference between William Grant Hileman, b. Jul 29 1922, and his sister Alma Katherine Hileman, b. Feb 11 1922, both in Doddridge County. Both are identified as children of McKinley Hileman and Lucy Davis. A search of the Social Security Death Index revealed William W. Hileman, b. Jul 29 1922, d. Aug 5 1978, resident of Virginia, Social Security card issued in West Virginia before 1951. Despite the different middle initial, given the same birthdate and the early West Virginia residence, it is considered probable that this is the same William Hileman.

McKinley Hileman, 19, farm laborer; wife Lucy, 19.

1930 Census, Doddridge Co, WV (Southwest District), enumerated on Apr 14 1930:
William M. Hileman, 30, farm laborer, age 19 at first marriage; wife Lucie B, 28, age 16 at first marriage; dau Alma K, 9 (or 8 ?); son William G, 7 yr 8 mo; son Howard Jr, 5 yr 6 mo; dau Virginia L, 1 yr 3 mo.
