Notes for: Davis Byrd

Although identified in his marriage record and early census returns as David Bird, at some point he adopted the name Davis Byrd, changing both his given name and his surname. That is how he is identified on his headstone and in daughter Edith's death record. All other family members appear to have retained the spelling Bird.
