Notes for: Ernest Washington "Short" Husk
Served overseas as a Corporal with the US Army in World War I. In the late 1940's, he operated a one-man, one-vehicle shuttle bus service in Doddridge County, with his vehicle being a car that he "stretched" into a limousine having 8 doors. A photo of it is among the holdings at the Doddridge County Historical Society Museum. There is some confusion regarding Ernest's birthplace: While his grandson Edward Jr.'s entry in "The History of Doddridge County," p. 173, states Jackson County, WV, Ernest's obituary states Ritchie County, WV, as does his marriage record and his birth record itself.
