Notes for: Esther Jane Gaston

Moved with her husband in 1806 to Israel Twp, Preble Co, OH, presumably because they were opposed to slavery. They helped to found the Hopewell Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Israel Twp that the Rev. Alexander Porter later pastored. Esther Gaston and Ebenezer Elliott had eight children, and Ebenezer had two more wives, Margaret Mitchell and Nancy Henry.
