Notes for: William Law

William Law came to America in 1794. His first wife was Mary Burnside, with whom he had six children: William Jr., Thomas, John, Isaac, Frank, and Mary (married Rev George Collins). The reported March 1803 and April 1803 birth dates of sons William Jr. and John are based on their headstones, but are clearly in conflict.

After Mary's death, William married Hannah Sill(s), who bore him seven more children: David, Asby Poole (married Deborah Gaston), Asa, Jesse, Elizabeth (married Samuel Morris Gaston), Ruhama (married Jefferson Law), Ellen (married James Hutson).
