A Presbyterian Minister who settled at Plainfield, CT, called to the Separatist Church at Voluntown, 1751, and was imprisoned in the Windham County jail for a long time for refusing to pay the Established (Congregational) Church rates. [American Ancestry, Vol V, p. 104]
