Jesse G. Lowther and Nancy Swisher were the parents of ten children. He and Wady Knight are believed to have had two children.
1830 Census, Harrison Co, VA: Household of Jesse G. Lowther had one male between the ages of 70 and 80, one 40-50, one 10-15, two 5-10, one under 5; and one female 30-40, one 15-20, and two under five.
1840 Census, Harrison Co, VA: Household of Jesse G. Lowther had one male between the ages of 50 and 60, one 15-20, one 10-15, one under 5; and one female 50-60, two 10-15, and two 5-10.
Nancy Swisher Lowther died in April 1840. Jesse G. Lowther then married Wady Knight in Sep 1841.
1850 Census, Harrison Co, VA: Household of Jesse Lowther had following family members: Jesse, age 60; Wady, 45; Amy, 22; Penelope, 20; Emily, 18; Mary, 15; John, 11; Nancy, 7; Jesse, 6.
(Note: Although the entry clearly shows the oldest child as a female named Amy, no further reference to that daughter has been found, and the entry is believed to refer to a son named Amos.)
