Following graduation from Pennsboro High School in 1951, worked as a waitress at the former Sarah Jack's Cardinal Corner Restaurant. Afterward, for 35 years, she owned and operated Margie's Bar & Grill and the former Quaker State Snack Bar, both in Pennsboro.
