Death Claims Aged Veteran
Addison Nutter died at his home on Waldo Run of Buckeye, Thursday, Oct. 15, 1914, at 7 o'clock a.m., aged 76 years. A year or so ago, Mr. Nutter suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never fully recovered.
June 18, 1868, he was united in marriage to Mary S. Small, and to this union nine children were born, six of whom survive, and who with the companion and mother mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. The sons are Walter Nutter of Morgansville and John Nutter of Central; the daughters are Mrs. Mary A. Lipscomb of Morgansville, Mrs. Flora Jacobs of Wolf Summit, Mrs. Luzada Lipscomb of Central, and Miss Elvira at home. Besides these of the immediate family, the deceased is survived by two brothers, Nelson Nutter of Long Run and Sanford Nutter Clarksburg.
During the Civil War, Mr. Nutter served the Union as a member of Battery A, of the First West Virginia artillery, and at the close of the war received an honorable discharge.
The funeral services were conducted at the home at one o'clock p.m., Friday, Oct 16, by Rev. S. A. Jesse. The interment was at Victory cemetery at 3 o'clock, A. J. Osborned, funeral director in charge.

Addison Nutter, 58, b. Feb 1842 in West Virginia, married 20 yrs; wife Mary S., 41, b. Feb 1859 in Virginia, married 20 yrs, mother of 9 children, 6 still living; son Thomas W., 26, b. Apr 1874; dau Flora D., 23, b. Jan 1877; dau Lusada, 11, b. Dec 1888; dau Elva J., 6, b. Apr 1894; boarder John T. Small, 40, b. Mar 1860 in Virginia.
(NOTE: Length of marriage appears to be incorrect. They were married on June 25 1868. Ages and birth dates of children are also inconsistent with other records.)
