Local news item, "West Union Record," Thursday, June 1 1916, in its entirety:
"Uncle John A. Polan, one of the pioneer citizens of Blandville, was here Thursday. Mr. Polan is nearing his seventy-fifth year, and we are sorry to report that he has been in poor health since last November. He was accompanied by his son, Samuel."
