Notes for: Minter Bailey Ralston, Jr.
Resident of Turnertown and a well-known Lewis County pharmacist and businessman. A quiet, unassuming person known to countless people in Lewis and surrounding counties, he owned and operated Ralston's Pharmacy, the oldest continuously-run business of its kind the the state. The Weston landmark was founded in 1856 by his grandfather, Er Ralston, after he moved to Weston from Ashland, OH. A graduate of Weston High School, he attended the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, graduated and was licensed in 1925. Following his retirement after 50 years in the profession, the pharmaceutical tradition was carried on by his only son.
