Notes for: John William Gaston

"Mr. Gaston resided in Grant District (Harrison County) until 1890 and since then on his present farm which consists of 186 acres. In connection with farming he, like many of his neighbors, has been handling stock and has met with fair success. Both he and wife belong to the oldest families of Harrison Countv and are influential and prominent citizens. Both hold membership in the Protestant Methodist Church. In his politics Mr. Gaston leans toward the Democratic party, and his first Presidential vote was cast for Breckinridge in 1860."
