Notes for: John Smith Gaston

John Smith Gaston built his log house in 1853 on Camp Run, near Summers, Doddridge Co, WV. He was then able to bring his wife Elizabeth (Richards) from Harrison County to Camp Run. The frame part of the house was built in 1890. He had to buy his farm back after going on the bond of a man he thought was his best friend. That took many years of hard work and put a great financial strain on the family.
