Notes for: John Gaston, Jr.
John Gaston, Jr. and his wife, Anna Davisson, came to Duck Creek, Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia) in 1796. Anna's sister Elizabeth and her husband, Watters Smith, also came to Duck Creek at the same time and bought land there. John Gaston, Jr. served in the Revolutionary War in Capt. John Covenhoven's (aka Jon Cowenhoven) Company, Col. Samuel Forman's 2nd Regiment, of the Monmouth County NJ Militia. New Jersey Department of Defense records show him as a Sergeant as of Jul-1-1780.
