Doddridge County Roots
Doddridge County Roots - A West Virginia Genealogy
Scope

This is a genealogy focusing on North Central West Virginia,
particularly Doddridge County and, to a lesser extent, the
nearby counties of Ritchie, Harrison, Lewis, Gilmer and
Calhoun.
Background

This project evolved from a simple family tree of the Gaston and Husk families who
settled in Doddridge County in the mid-1800s.  Over the years, it has grown to
encompass many other families in the region, including Britton, Nutter, Davis,
Jones, Richards, Adams, Nicholson, Cox, Smith, West, Starcher, Hart, Vincent,
Haught, Watson, McNemar, Musgrave, Lowther, Critchfield, Perine and Leggett.
Purpose

The information set forth here is the product of many years of research, both by us
and by the many dedicated and selfless genealogists who came before us.  It is
now presented to the genealogy community and general public in that same spirit of
sharing and helpfulness.  Our reward is the knowledge that we have likely
helped others find an elusive piece in the puzzle that is their own ancestry.
